The Fantastic Fabulous Moolah

11/2/2012
Lillian Ellison – better known as The Fabulous Moolah – led the world of women's professional wrestling for years. From her debut in 1949 to her record-breaking WWE Women's Championship win at age 76 in 1999, she was at the top of her game. Not just a wrestler, she also trained female wrestlers, served as valet to male wrestlers, and acted as a wrestling promoter.

But, of course, it's her wrestling we remember best – and today, on the fifth anniversary of her death, that's what we're spotlighting. We invite you to join us as we watch a few great Fabulous Moolah bouts…

In 1978, Moolah takes down Vicki Williams in just over five minutes.

She added some sass to her costume for this tag team match with Toni Rose.

And here's a match from 1999, the year in which The Fabulous Moolah became the oldest-ever WWE Women's Champion.
