BURHOE, Adam Arnott Webster B.C.L.S.
1914 - 2013
Adam passed away Saturday evening, February 9, 2013, in his 99th year. He was predeceased by sisters Josephine and Juanita, and stepbrother Theophulus (Ed). Adam is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marguerite, daughter Janet, son Gregg (Sharon), grandsons Scott (Denise) and Wayne (Kathy), sister Thelma Shaner, numerous nephews and nieces, and many friends. Born in Vancouver, BC, July 2, 1914, where he resided until 1967, when he and his wife, Marguerite, moved to Coquitlam. In 1982, they moved to Tsawwassen. Adam worked for the City of Vancouver for 50 years, where he retired as City Surveyor. He was a Scoutmaster for more than 20 years, Past President of the Board of M.S.A., first president of C.U.P.E. B.C. Division, past president and life member of the Corporation of B.C. Land Surveyors. Since retirement, he had been a very active volunteer in the Kinsmen Recreation Centre in Tsawwassen, receiving a 25 year pin for service. He has been privileged to be an alert individual, residing in a Kinsmen Assisted Living suite, where he was well-known for his ongoing work at large jigsaw puzzles, in the centre's lounge, until his death in Delta Hospital. One of Adam's greatest pleasures was his summers spent at the family cottage in Bell's Grove, Point Roberts, WA. After cremation, there will be a Memorial Service at St. David's Anglican Church, Tsawwassen, 1115 - 51A Street, on Sunday, February 17, at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow in the church hall. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all staff members at the Tsawwassen, Kinsmen Assisted Living, for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, donations, in Adam's name, would be greatly received by the Tsawwassen KinVillage Community Centre, 5430 - 10th Avenue, Delta, BC V4M 3X8.
