MONAHAN, Arthur Ronald
December 13, 1919 - October 27, 2012
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our devoted Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Beverly, and his second wife Bunty. Dad is survived by his son Arthur (Angela), daughters Deirdre (John), Frances (Terry) and Bridget (Donald) as well as 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
After serving as a Sub-Lieutenant in the RCNVR during the Second World War, Dad returned to Vancouver where he spent over 60 years in the general insurance and group employer/ employee health care & pension plan benefits administration business.
Dad was an avid golfer and was fortunate to have enjoyed a lengthy membership with both Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club & Capilano Golf and Country Club.
Dad also prided himself in being well informed with both Federal and Provincial politics and enjoyed numerous conversations on these subjects with his long standing friends and Family.
Dad has requested a private family Memorial Service and gathering.
The family extends its gratitude to the caring staff at the Vancouver General Hospital and to his caregivers Cathy and Vilma for their attention to Dad in his time of need.
