CRAMER, Dr. Carl F.
It is with great regret and sadness that we announce that Carl passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2012. At 90 years, Carl had lived a very full life. His early years in New Mexico were full of music and playing in numerous bands and orchestras, one of which won the John Philip Sousa award for excellence. During his naval career he was in command of a ship that coordinated part of the first wave of landings at both Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After the war, he met his future wife Aurora in Hollywood. They moved to Berkeley, where Carl received his Doctorate. After completing his degree, Carl moved his family to Vancouver, where he became a founding Professor of the Physiology Department at UBC. Carl was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Aurora, and son Carl K. He is survived by his son Marc, his many friends and extended family members. There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Kidney Foundation.
