Donald James Findlay

Donald James Findlay Jan. 25, 1928-June 26, 2014 Born In Vancouver B.C., Don passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 86 at Willow Manor in Maple Ridge. He was predeceased by his wife Vivian in 2006 and will be greatly missed by friends and family. Son Randall (Claudia), daughter Dawna Linn (John) and his grandchildren Jennifer (Craig), Kristine (Dan), Brent (Jenn), Melissa, Matt (Justine) and his great-grandchildren Aidan, Tomas, Sophie, Claudia, Henry, Kesler and Jaden. Don was a member of the Vancouver Fire Department for 36 1/2 years. He retired in 1988 as a Battalion Chief. He often talked about all the fond memories he had with his firefighter family and how proud he was to be a part of it. He enjoyed playing cards, camping, the outdoors, animals and collecting bottles. Don was the most happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends. Many thanks to the staff at Willow Manor for all the wonderful care these past 8 years. Don will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. No service by request.
