ROW, Edwin Andrew
Passed away suddenly at his home in Richmond BC on January 15th, 2013. Ed was born December 18th, 1932 in Barons Alberta, the first child of Andrew and Lillian Row. Ed grew up on a farm in southern Alberta with two sisters, Elaine and Deanna and two brothers, Les and Ron. Ed married his highschool sweetheart Barbara Stafford in 1953 and raised two children Bill and Brenda. In 1957 Ed achieved a life long dream of flying airplanes for a living. Ed and his family relocated to Vancouver in 1957 so Ed could begin flying for TCA. His career spanned 35 years with TCA and Air Canada, but his love for flying remained his whole life. Captain Row took himself and his loved ones to many wonderful places around the world. Ed will be missed by all that knew him, especially those who received the joy of travelling with him. We can only hope this last flight took the Captain to another happy place. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Barbie, his son Bill and daughter Brenda, grandchildren Krista, Andrew, Jameson, Maddie and Ally, and great granddaughter Kayley. A memorial service will be held at the Quilchena Golf and Country Club at 3551 Granville Ave, Richmond BC, from 3 - 5pm Sunday January 20th. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Richmond Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
