MONIZ, Ernesto Furtado
Born February 7 in Sao Bras, Sao Miguel (Azores) Portugal. Passed away peacefully on November 8, 2012 in Burnaby, B.C. at the age of 85. A pioneer immigrant who came to Canada in April 1954 via the S/S Homeland to start a new life in Canada. He is survived by his family and lovingly remembered by his three sons, two daughters, daughters-in- law, sons-in-law: Anthony (Liz), Ernest (Una), Carlos (Gabriella), Laura (Joe) and Grace (Mike); his Grandchildren: Elizabeth, David, Eva, Ian, Justin, Ezra, Nicholas, Anna, Anthony, Gavin, Julia, Carolynn, Jacqueline and Derek; great-grandson Liam; siblings, cousins and his many friends that made up Dad's large extended family. Ernesto will be remembered for his love of nature, gardening and farming. He would always be found in the backyard tending to his various plants and vegetables or chatting with neighbours… We love you Dad, and will miss you! The Moniz family wishes to thank the caring/dedicated home care staff of the Royal Arch Masonic home and the nursing staff at Burnaby General Palliative care ward, who took care of our Dad in his time of need. Prayers will be said 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish, 1423 E. 13th Ave. Vancouver, B.C. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Rev.
