Eugene Polowich

June 13, 1944 - November 14, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene after a 3 year brave battle with cancer. He leaves Colleen, his loving wife of 43 years, his sister Mary, brothers Ernie (Darcia), Paul (Agnes), Mike (Alice), Ed (Linda), and many loved nieces and nephews. Eugene is predeceased by his parents (Steve and Pauline), and brothers Bill, Metro, John (Gloria) and Stanley (Heather). Eugene was born in Canora, Saskatchewan, lived his childhood years in Norquay and in 1961 he came to Squamish. In his adult years he worked at Weldwood, FMC, Canadian Occidental and Nexen. Eugene enjoyed building and maintaining our many homes and then taking pride in planning and maintaining our yards. He also loved to barbecue his special roasts, do crossword puzzles and root for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. For the past 9 years Eugene loved our cabin life at Point Roberts where we met new friends and enjoyed many happy family times. The family would like to thank Drs. Murray and Goddard at the BCCA,the Squamish Palliative Care Team and especially Dr. Cudmore for their care and support. A Celebration of Eugene's life will be held at the Sea to Sky Hotel on Wednesday Nov. 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Research or to the charity of your choice would be welcome.
