Frank WONG

WONG, Frank
May 16, 1919 - September 12, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved husband and father Frank Wong. Frank passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Thursday, September 12, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Gwen, and daughters Louise (Bill), Terri (David deceased), Carol (Don), and grandchildren Braedon, Connor, Erica, Roger, and his brothers, sisters, and large extended family. Frank was proud to have served his country in WWII, his participation at Juno Beach, Normandy and the liberation of Europe. He never missed an opportunity to educate our youth on the contributions made by those who served, in particular the Canadian Chinese, which later solidified their rights to full citizenship. He was also a founding member of the Chinese Canadian Military Museum. For the past 32 years, Frank was an active member of the YMCA Healthy Heart Program. Frank enjoyed life to the fullest and remained active throughout his life. He was deeply devoted to his family and will be dearly missed. In keeping with Frank's wishes, a private Funeral Service will be held for immediate family. To Celebrate Frank's long and remarkable life, please join us on Friday, September 20 at 5:30 p.m. promptly at the Pink Pearl Restaurant located at 1132 East Hastings Street, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the YMCA Healthy Heart Program or the Chinese Canadian Military Museum Society.
