Gale Watt

Gale Watt 1928 - 2012 Gale passed away peacefully on December 5, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Norman of 58 years and parents Fred and Jean McGahey, brother Robert Mason (Mary), sister June Ingham (Cliff). She is survived by daughters Debby Welsh (David), Norma Jean Phillips (Randy), granddaughter Kymberly Welsh, grandson Ryan Welsh.

Gale was born and raised in the Kerrisdale area. She was a member of Shaughnessy Heights United Church and a former member of the choir. She was a past Provincial President of PEO, a past President of the Musqueam Ladies Golf Club and a past Captain of the Musqueam Ladies Golf Club. She was also a volunteer at the UBC Hospital. In her very early years Gale was an accomplished dancer, singer and elocutionist winning several B.C. festival competitions. Gale and Norm spent many happy years at the Arbutus Club curling, playing tennis and entertaining at the Ladies Curling Open. Gale and Norm loved to travel and went across North America twice by R.V. and seventeen countries in Europe by car. Gale also enjoyed her time bowling with the Point Grey Ladies Golf Club.

Service will be held on Friday, December 14th at 10:00AM at Shaughnessy Heights United Church 1550 West 33rd Ave. In Gale's memory a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
