Gerald Cecil Allward

ALLWARD _ Gerald Cecil. It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather and great-grandfather, Gerald Cecil Allward, at Mt. St. Joseph's Hospital on November 8, 2005, after a long illness. He was born in Vancouver on July 13, 1925. He was predeceased by his father Cecil (Rusty) Allward in 1966 and his mother Phyllis in 1997. He is survived by his wife Beverly Clough, four daughters, Cyndi Warner (David), Stacey Gruenwald (Gary), Darrien Beck (Sandy), Morgen Allward (Geoff Grover), two grandsons, Colin Warner (Sherri) and Chad Warner; four granddaughters, Erin and Corrie Gruenwald, and Lyndsay and Arielle Beck and two great-granddaughters, Bailey and Paige Warner. Gerry graduated from Kitsilano High School in 1943. He joined the RCAF the same year achieving the rank of Pilot Officer. He worked as an accountant for Seaboard Shipping for 35 years retiring in 1990. He received his CMA degree in 1966 and was active in his society for a number of years serving on the Board of Directors and as a publicist for their paper. Viewing will be held at Hamilton-Harron Funeral Centre and Crematorium, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver on Monday, November 14, 2005 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Masonic Cemetery in Burnaby. Rev. Bruce Rushton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA. Many thanks to Dr. Rhona Gorden for her care and to the nurses at the Mt. St. Joseph's for their care of Mr. Allward. The old order changeth, yielding to new, and God fulfills Himself in many ways. Lest one good custom should corrupt the world comfort thyself. What comfort is in me? I have lived my life, and that which I have done. May He within Himself make pure! Will thou If thou shouldst never see my face again. Pray for my soul. More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Wherefore let thy voice Rise like a fountain for me night and day.
