1921 - 2013
Geraldine Frances Swank passed away peacefully at the Royal Columbian Hospital January 20, 2013. She was born in Lloydminster, Alberta March 26, 1921 and was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan. In 1942 she joined the RCAF and served her country proudly in Saskatoon, Ottawa, Montreal and overseas in London England. She married Don Swank who was also serving in the RCAF, in London on February 20, 1945. They returned to Canada and had 5 children between 1947 and 1960. She is survived by her husband Don and children Frances Tutt ( David) Wendy Bell (Greg) Sue Wheeler (Doug), Evelyn Hill (Joe), James Swank ( Hana), ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all staff of RCH 3 south ward for taking such good care of Geraldine in her final days. The Funeral service will be at St. Mary's Anglican Church Sapperton in New Westminster, Saturday, January 26 at 2 PM. Reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mary's Anglican Church Sapperton or the Salvation Army.
