Gordon HARRIS


HARRIS, Gordon Richard
Gordon passed away January 11, 2013 at St. Paul's Hospital. Born in Vancouver General Hospital November 20, 1923, he was predeceased by his sister Doreen, parents Richard and Maude, and by Jean, his first wife of thirty-four years. He is survived by his sister Vera, his wife and best friend Bobby of thirty years, children, Lyle and Lynda, grandchildren Joel, Nathan, Stephanie, and Avril, his stepdaughters Cathi, Sandra (Rick), Gina, step-grandchildren Nicholas, Joanna, Lexi and Jacob; as well, daughter-in-law June, sister Vera's family, and special relatives Dennis and Arlene and family; also, Sunshine Kathy and family. Gordon was employed for many years in the pulp and paper industry and later became a BCIT Pioneer, participating as an Instructor in the 1964 start up of the school's Diploma Programs. He continued his career as a teacher and mentor until 1994, followed by ten years as a training consultant.
