Grace DAVIS

DAVIS, Grace Laurie (nee Munn)
Grace Laurie Davis (b June 1916) passed away peacefully on November 13, 2012 at Arbutus Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Davis, and survived by sons Gord (Ulrike), Rob (Kathy) and Cliff (Carolyn); grandchildren Eric (Erin), Keith (Amanda), Neil, Jeff (Michelle), Greg, Kevin, Megan (Allan) and Heather; six great-grandchildren and an extended family with whom Grace had many wonderful memories. Grace was born in Kamloops and came to Vancouver at an early age. She stayed, married, raised her children and contributed to the community in many ways. Grace was a wonderful mother and the ultimate volunteer in several organizations. She spent a good deal of her life helping others by way of the United Church, PEO Sisterhood, Clarke Manor seniors home, Meals on Wheels, Vancouver Food Bank, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Arthritis Society, United Way and the Red Cross. She was also very involved with her kids' schools and activities. Mom and Dad had a great life together - "we all should be so lucky in this corner of the world". The family would like to especially thank Mom's caregivers at Arbutus Care Centre, who for the past fourteen years have helped her so much. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated. No service by request. Family and friends will have a remembrance at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club, 4300 Southwest Marine Drive, Vancouver on Saturday November 24, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
