KABUSH, Irene Pearl (nee Shufflebotham)
March 16, 1924 - November 29, 2012
Greeting Irene with open arms, her Sister Shirley welcomed her into her heavenly home. Irene was born in Humboldt Saskatchewan, the 2nd eldest of 7 and was raised on the prairies during the Depression. Upon graduating with honours from Lloydminster High School, she enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a meteorologist during WWII. After discharge from the RCAF, Irene was employed at the Hudson's Bay store, Vancouver, where she met her husband to be, Harry. Ultimately, they built their dream home North Delta and raised two children there (Linda and Dan). Irene excelled at everything. A gracious hostess, amazing cook, immaculate seamstress, knitter, master bridge player, gardener, good friend & neighbour and best sister ever. She learned to swim and drive in her 30's thanks to her neighbour Lilly Ann Nassey. Irene is the last of the Kabush elders and will be very much missed by her large and extended family, brothers & sisters, nieces and nephews. Left to celebrate Irene's wonderful life are her daughter Linda Dickinson (Mike), step-granddaughters Danielle (Hope) and Nicole, son Dan Kabush and grandson Ryan. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada, Alzheimer's Society of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A memorial will be held in March, 2013. Irene and Harry's ashes are to be interred at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. "A very lovely lady.??
