John Gerald Aldrich

May 21, 1915 - July 11, 2011

Peacefully passed away at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. John grew up in Calgary, was a decorated RCAF pilot during WWII and later a highly respected professional engineer. He is survived by his wife Ruth, sister Betty, sons Philip and David, daughter Jane, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. His passion was to understand the workings of the world and act as a mentor to his children in their exploration of life. A long time outdoor enthusiast and resident of West Vancouver, his soul remains in the forests and mountains around us, and in the hearts of those who had the privilege to be a part of this exceptional man's life. We will all miss him very much. For those wishing to share memories of John, please go to
