October 22 1960- October 24 2012 Kitchen, Leslie Denise
October26, 1960 - October 24, 2012
After a long 20 year fight with brain cancer Leslie passed away with her mother at her side. She is survived by her son Ryan, parents Pearl and Harold Jones of Richmond, brother Laurie, wife Kathy and their three nieces in Ottawa.
Leslie graduated from Richmond High, then attended B.C.I.T graduating with honours in Health Records Administration. She worked as health records administrator, covering George Pearson and UBC hospitals and GF Strong rehab center. Her staff said she was a fair boss. She fought through 3 recurring brain tumours but the 4th took her life. Those that knew her were amazed at her courage and strength. She never complained. Raising son Ryan was her special challenge and attended his baseball and hockey games and curling and Scouts when health permitted. She liked scorekeeping in baseball.
Ryan was always in daily phone contact with his mother and came when needed. When she was admitted to the Salvation Army-Rotary Club Hospice, he came early every day to aid in feeding her breakfast.
At Leslie's request a Celebration of Life be held on her birthday October 22nd. Family and close friends came to say their goodbyes.
There are many people to thank. These include the medical and nursing staff at the Hospice for their excellent care, her very close friends, Ryan's friends and a special friend "Momma" May Croft of Kelowna. Leslie was our special angel and both her parents will have a big hole in their hearts for her. They will look up in the sky each night and say hello and send a little prayer. A night of remembrance open house will be held November 1st at
#86, 5531 Cornwall Drive in Richmond.
