Lois Reynolds (Hanson) Wilson

Lois Reynolds Wilson (nee Hanson) 1927 - 2012 Wilson, Lois Reynolds (Hanson) passed away December 31, 2012 after a lengthy battle with health issues.

Lois was born December 26, 1927 in Estevan, Saskatchewan, the youngest daughter of Louis Edward and Selena Ann Hanson. The family moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where she graduated from Central Collegiate High School.

Lois entered VGH School of Nursing obtaining her RN in 1949. She married Dr. Frank Wilson and moved to Atlanta, Georgia and Memphis, Tennessee where she practiced nursing until returning to Vancouver in 1954. She finished her nursing career at the BC Cancer Clinic where she worked from 1976 until retiring in 1992.

Lois was active in the VGH Alumni Association, Point Grey Golf Club, Dunbar Community Centre and the UBC Volunteer Gift Shop.

Lois's retirement was spent travelling to visit her grandchildren across Canada and the USA. Her family was her pride and joy.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Franca Bebb (Doug, Ryan, Owen and Hanna) of Vancouver and loving son Frank Wilson (Dianne, Ryann and Keely) of Houston, Texas. Lois is also survived by sisters Margaret Whitmore of Brantford, Ontario and Olive Nant of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, along with many nieces and nephews.

Very special thanks to Dr. G. Sreenivasan and the 6th floor Hematology staff at Centennial Pavillion, the staff at VGH emergency department, Dr. A. Stelzer-Chilton, Dr. A. Chalmers and the Home Care staff at Bayshore for their kindness and care over the years.

A celebration of Lois's life will be held at home at a later date.
