Marie Ann Mac Neill

Marie Ann Mac Neill, 53, of Vancouver, passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer October 14, 2012 in Vancouver. Up to a week of going into Hospice, she was lovingly cared for by her brothers and especially her sister, Alice, who was always by her side. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late James and Veronica Mac Neill. She was predeceased by a half-brother, Frank Glaveen of St. Adele, Quebec. She is survived by her son, Meko, granddaughters, Meara and Maria, all of Victoria, sisters Neata (Carroll) Wilcox of Truro, Alice of Vancouver, brothers Leslie (Marcia) of Victoria, Donald (Debra) of Victoria, David (Peggy) of Berwick, and Robert of Ottawa, as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie taught in the public school systems of Victoria and Vancouver for 25 years and was a beloved and dedicated teacher and friend to many.
The rolling stream of life rolls on,
But still the vacant chair
Recalls the love, the voice, the smile
Of the one who once sat there.
