Robert George BISSETT

BISSETT, Robert George
November 8, 1932 - December 3, 2012
After a lengthy battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Robert (Bob) George Bissett, 80, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2012 with his long-time friends Yvonne and Daryl Cominetti by his side. Bob was born on November 8, 1932 to George Keltie and Phyllis Muriel (Laycock) Bissett. Bob grew up in Vancouver (except for time spent in Lethbridge during WWII) and graduated from King Edward High School. Bob was an exceptional athlete and excelled at soccer. He was a standout goalie for many years in the Pacific Coast Soccer League and he was a member of the 1955 Dominion Champions New Westminster Royals Football Club. In 1975 Bob earned his teaching certificate and mainly taught special needs students. He also did an extensive amount of tutoring when he retired. He lived a very active lifestyle and had numerous interests including golf, hiking, cycling, roller blading, dancing, and spending time at Pt. Roberts. He also gave back to his sport and coached many youth soccer teams. Bob will be missed and he will be remembered for his generosity, support and willingness to help. At Bob's request, there will be no memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to your preferred charity. Bob is survived by Grace Mills-Hodgins, his three children, Estella Lynn Erickson, David and Alvin, and by his older brother Ronald.
