Robert was a long-term resident of Burnaby, served in the Canadian Navy, spent over 30 years as a Vancouver Police Officer, and even longer happily retired. Many of those retirement years were spent in Lima Peru where he met a wonderful group of Peruvian friends. He was predeceased by his son David Robert Welsh in 1971 and his brother Ronald Edward in 2012.

Bob leaves to mourn his wife Betty Welsh, daughters Barbara Welsh (Tom Lee), Judy Simpson (Tom), and much loved stepdaughters Romy and Jessica Durand. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren McKenzie & Cassidy Lee, Carley & Shanna Simpson, Justin Durand, and Gabriel & Sadie Songster. He will also be fondly remembered by Elsie Hobbs (Clare) and his extended Peruvian family, that have settled in the Lower Mainland.

Bob spent his last 4 months in hospice care where he was surrounded by family & friends and the staff, & volunteers who kept him entertained and happy.
