PORTER, Robert Thomas (Bob)
Passed away suddenly in Arizona, March 17, 2013 at age 79. Born in Flin Flon Manitoba, Bob lived most of his life in the Vancouver area. A natural storyteller, he began his career as a journalist, writing and reporting for the Vancouver Sun, The Province and CKWX Radio. Later, Bob pursued public relations and retired as Vice-President of Public Affairs at Fletcher Challenge, where his integrity distinguished him as a principled and objective communicator. Family dinners won't be the same without Bob's mischievous sense
of humour, and ability to always see the silver lining. Bob will be missed by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Catherine, children Cindy (Monty), Robin (Anastasia) and Terry (Deborah), grandchildren Kurtis, Allie, Liam, Jaxon, Sophia, Leila and Leon, and first wife Rose, all of whom were lovingly bestowed a nickname by Robt T Himself. A Service and reception will be held Friday, April 5, 2pm at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28 Ave, Surrey. Condolences may be offered at
