WHITE, Roderick James
April 5, 1951 - January 10, 2013
On January 10, 2013, Rod, 61, left his wife's loving embrace to be with the angels. He battled cancer with a strong will and the conviction that life is truly beautiful and that every moment is precious. Rod leaves behind his broken-hearted wife Anca, his parents, his siblings and their families in Canada and the Netherlands, and many loving and caring friends. Rod's smile, quick wit, zest for life, and great humour will be forever missed and cherished by all who knew him. There will be a Reception-Gathering on January 17, 2013 at the Richmond Funeral Home (8420 Cambie Road, Richmond) starting at 2 p.m. to celebrate Rod's life and remember his many accomplishments and passions. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rod's memory to a charity of your choice.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Rod, I think about you often, missing your fun-loving nature, your thoughtfulness. Sorry to see such a good man go too young. Thank you, Rod, for printing all those dance notes. Anca, I hope you can overcome the grief his passing has caused you. I think about you too, wishing that your pain will soon be lifted. Take care. // Elsie Erickson

I always thought Rod as a Renaissance man. So many interests...So many passions and always good at all of them..Always positive and always interested.. Such a good guy. You are missed. Thankyou Rod.

We first met Rod at our Italian Society Banquet at the Italian Cultural Centre, several years ago. From that time on, whenever we met, there was a big hello and a kiss on the hand. A true gentleman, when are they hard to find. Rest in peace, Rod. Our condolences to his wife and family.
