LEE, Sylvia (Nee Yip)
May 27, 1931 - December 27, 2012
Sylvia passed away peacefully at the age of 81. Predeceased by sister Frances Lock (1932-1972), son Ian Scott (1954-1981), father Foo W. Yip (1904-1984), and mother May Mah (1910-2000). Survived by husband of 60 years Bing Kong, and daughter Ava Beth, brother-in-law Larry Lock of Shelton WA, nephews Steven Lock of Seattle WA and Brian Lock of Lacey WA, extended family of Yip Sang, Mah's and Lee's. Sylvia led a busy life in her retirement. She was a member of Canadian Legion Branch #177. She enjoyed the Senior Drop- In Centre for bowling and card games, Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House for their numerous activities, social lunches and bus trips, and Vancouver General Hospital Wellness Centre for their senior keep-fit classes. When able, she volunteered at the Louis Brier Home and Hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Diego Villa, Dr. Duncan Etches (retired), at V.G.H. No service at her request. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Sylvia's Life at Flamingo House Chinese Restaurant, 7510 Cambie Street, Vancouver at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013.
