NOMME, Valdur
Born August 6, 1914 in Estonia; died peacefully November 16, 2012 in Burnaby, BC at the Willingdon Care Centre. Valdur brought his family to Canada in 1951, settled in Vancouver, had a long career with McKenzie Barge & Derrick, and was active with the Estonian Baptist Church, singing in the choir until he was will into his 90s. Survived by his wife of 70 years, Alice; his daughters Mary Russell (Jack) and Kathy Pledger (Wayne), four grandchildren, Jason Russell, Julia Russell, Sean Pledger and Eric Pledger, and two great- grandchildren, Nellie and Stuart Russell. Memorial Service will be held at Forest Lawn Chapel on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation, 3935 Kincaid St., Burnaby, BC V5G 2X6.
