BARRY _ "Bill" William Alexander Born in Russell, Manitoba May 15, 1916. Died May 8, 2006 Ladner, BC. Bill is survived by his wife Eva; children William C, Grant (Mae), John, and Jill (Jim) Werner; grandchildren Michael (Lauren), Jennifer, Andrew, Katey, and Stuart; and by his sister Rhoda (Bob) Burkett. Bill grew up in rural Manitoba. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. He was involved in operations against enemy radar for which he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He, along with his crew, were honoured at Buckingham Palace by the King. After the war, he was involved in photo survey with 408 Squadron in mapping northern Canada. During his Air Force career, he moved to numerous locations across Canada. Bill then worked with the Alberta government and the Alberta 75th Anniversary Commission, and he retired in 1981. He leaves behind many associates and friends in Edmonton, Alberta. Bill moved to Tsawwassen, BC in 1988, to join his numerous relatives. Never complaining and always composed. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006, 2 pm in the Chapel of Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC with Reception following.
