STACEY, Mike (Richard Michael Nelles )
Born January 11,1946, Mike passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on December 8, 2013. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 32 years Liz, sister Leslie Joan/Pierre-Yves Bachmann, sister and brothers in law, Kathryn Dinning, Michael Windjack, Quentin McDonnell, and Suisse family Blaise, Anne-Sophie, Kim, Jacques, Laurence, Yannis, Gael, Claire, Anatole, Penelope, and Timothe. Mike had a heart of gold, a kind and loving nature, a quick wit and a mischievous smile. Mike started "Carrera Service" on Pemberton Ave in North Van. in the early 1970's specializing in Porsche service and continued to work in the industry until 2006 with his business "Targa Performance". Mike was a skilled and passionate race car driver and was active in sports car racing at Westwood in the 1960's and 70's and over the past 20 years with the Vintage Race Car Club of B.C. More recently he loved nothing more than to enjoy the outdoors at our beloved Saratoga Beach on Vancouver Island. In way of a memorial a private family service will be held, followed by a celebration of life to be announced this coming spring.
