Alex (Shura) born in Halbstadt, Ukraine, predeceased by father Martin Berg in Siberia, immigrated to Vancouver, B.C. in 1948 with mother Agnes Berg, now deceased. He was their only son and later became the stepson of Jake Jansen. On June 18, 1954, Alex married Mary Louise Krech. He leaves his loving life Louise and son Kent (Rhonda), grandson Garett (Marian), great-grandson James, and great-grandchild in the "Womb Room," granddaughter Samantha (Myles) and great-grandchild in the "Womb Room," Rhonda's children and grandchildren Steve (Jen Jen), Colton, Tanner, Emerson, Kadan, Camryn, Julie (Bill), Olivia, Wade, Jenny, Madison, Zachary, Samara-Faith, Jackson. Alex is now with his children who have gone before: Gregory, Fredrich, Christina and Steven. Alex was loving, caring and generous to family, friends and employees in the business Norgate Auto Body Ltd. in Prince George which he founded and owned from 1960 to 1980 and passed on to his son Kent. Alex was blessed with loyal people support who have become close friends over the years. He worked with the Automotive Retailers Association, having meetings and demonstrations of new products, paint and equipment with other shop owners to elevate the automotive repair service industry in Prince George. Alex was gifted, working with his hands in metal, fibreglass and wood - a man of many talents. In the Ukraine they say "a man with golden hands." Outside of the business he built cabins, boats and houses, one of which he and Louise retired to in 1980 in Madeira Park. He loved the outdoors and was an avid yearly hunter and fisherman with "The Lady Lou" using the boat for a number of years chartering for Lord Jims as well as taking family and guests up and down the coast. We will miss the twinkle in your eye and wonderful sense of humour, my love who touched so many lives. It was a privilege for us, your family, to lovingly care for you at home.
Beyond the sunset, O glad reunion
With our dear loved ones who have gone before;
In that fair homeland we'll know no parting -
Beyond the sunset for evermore.
