On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, Ann Rosamond Driver passed away peacefully at Blenheim Lodge in Vancouver with many members of her loving family surrounding her. She was 91. She was known as "Nan" and later, when she became a grandma, as "Nana." She was born on September 6, 1921, in Kerrobert, Sask. When she came to B.C. for the first time as a young adult, she "fell in love with the mountains" and knew that's where she would live for the rest of her life. Nan worked as a nurse at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, where she met her late husband David. They moved to Vancouver in 1951. Nana is also predeceased by her sister Elsa and brother Conrad. She is survived and deeply missed by her brother Frank (Joy), children Susan (Paul), Paul (Geraldine), Peter and John (Treena), and by grandchildren Marisia (Cesar), Joseph (Alison), Benjamin, Andrew, Jeffrey, Maria, Nicholas, Thyra, and Erika. Also left mourning are Kristi (Jesse), Amy (RJ), Lacey and numerous other members of her extended family. Nana is fondly remembered as an extremely loving person, and a naturally nurturing mother and grandmother whose sweetness and easy smile touched the soul of almost everyone she met.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 2490 West 37th Ave., Vancouver at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 12. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in her memory to a charity of your choice. Funeral services are provided by Walkey & Company Funeral Directors Ltd., 604-738-0006.
