MONK, Brian Cyril
May 30, 1949 - November 11, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Cyril Monk on November 11, 2012. He passed peacefully at home, alongside his wife Susan, after a two-year fight with cancer. Brian spent much of his life on boats, or thinking about them. He graduated from the naval training school HMS Conway in 1965, then sailed on the weather ship CCGS Quadra, before spending the last 25 years of his career dispatching tug boats and log carriers along the west coast of BC for Kingcome Navigation and Seaspan. He loved making people smile and laugh with his many stories and endless jokes. And he always knew the direction of the next weather front. He will be missed by many, and ever so deeply by his wife of 42 years and his son Bryan. Following his wishes there will be no service. To sign book of condolences please click on
