With heavy hearts and loving memories, we say goodbye to Charlotte Mary Roberts (nee Geddes) who passed away at the age of 92 at VGH. Born in Vancouver, "Lottie" lived a long and productive life alongside her husband, Arthur, of 71 years. She was predeceased by her parents John Richard Geddes and Isabella (Lindsay) Geddes, her four siblings, grandson Grant Roberts and was the last remaining of her generation. She is survived by Arthur, sons Donald (Louisa) of Nanaimo, and Eric (Carol) of Vancouver, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and extended family. Lottie was raised in South Vancouver and spent many wonderful summers at Roberts Creek where she eventually met Arthur Roberts whom she married in 1942. Because Arthur had enlisted in the Air Force, their early married life saw them stationed in the Queen Charlotte Islands and also Hamilton, Ont. where she worked in a factory on a lathe building anti-aircraft guns. Upon their return to the Lower Mainland, they built their home on Georgia Street in Burnaby where they remained until "downsizing." Lottie was an active member of the Legion Women's Auxiliary. She worked many years for Del Pac and then Fletchers Foods. She and Art loved to travel and enjoyed trips all over the world: many wonderful camping/fishing trips, winters in California, land travel and cruises. She was a great cook, a wonderful mother, grandmother and loyal friend to many. She loved entertaining and all who showed up were made most welcome with the evening often ending in a good card game. She loved her two boys and was always willing to help out in any way with very few questions asked. Cherish your memories of her and raise a glass of "OBJ." A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
