ENGLEHART, Della Carey (nee Minish)
Della was born on February 6, 1920 in Melfort, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 27, 2012 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 92 years. Della will be lovingly remembered by her children: Elaine (Albert), Sharon (Jerry), Greg, Mark (Yvonne) and John (Shaun); her grandchildren: Conrad (Therese), Carolyn (Vern), Corbin, Kristi(Pat), Gregory, Dana (Dan), Jeffrey (Anna), Lisa and Michelle; and by her great-grandchildren; Marcus, Lucas, Aiden, Cole, Ashton and Odin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Della was preceded in death by her husband Louis J. Englehart (1915 to 1989), to whom she was married for 47 years, and by her sister Lois Meuse (1921 to 2002). Her deceased parents are Archibald Cughan Minish (1884 to 1970) and Ellen Mary (Carey) Minish (1890 to 1983). Della was always cheerful and very welcoming to others. She was truly loving, always forgiving and she touched the lives of many. At Della's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. A private family Mass will take place at a future date in Surrey, B.C. along with the placement of Della's cremated remains beside her husband Lou. The family would like to thank all those at Carrington Place, Nolan's Pharmacy and Vernon Jubilee Hospital for all of the outstanding care and service they gave to mom, with a very special recognition to Dr. Peter Henley and Dr. De Beer for their understanding and compassionate care they provided to our mother and our family. The family wishes to also thank the nurses and staff at Hospice House for the outstanding support and comfort that was genuinely given. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Della Englehart to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S4.
Sweet Death
'Tis when he gently calls to me,
'Tis then I long to break life's thread
To reach across and take his hand
And follow him before he's fled
Into Eternity.
