It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our kind, fun-loving and inspirational husband and father. He fought a tough battle with AML for two years with dignity, positivity and humour. He passed away peacefully in White Rock surrounded by his wife, daughters and dear friend. He is predeceased by his son Geoff. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna, daughters, Michelle Chan (Geoff), Charlene Egitto (Frank) and daughter-in-law Sheri Lucas. His grandchildren will forever remember his bear hugs and great pancakes: Sarah LaCombe (Matt Portman), Nick LaCombe (Michelle), Alex Chan, Lucas and Giorgia Egitto, Rory and Ryleigh Lucas. Great grandchildren: Rhys Portman, Nathan, Ryan and Aiden LaCombe. He also leaves some much loved family in England.
Born in Surrey, England he immigrated to Northern Ontario to work for Northern Telephone in 1961. He transferred to Kenora Ontario and met his wife of 48 years, Donna. During his long successful career in telecommunications he and his family made many close friends and colleagues living throughout Canada and the United States. He retired in White Rock and devoted his time to his grandchildren and community service. He is fondly remembered by many members of the former Reform Party of Western Canada. Since 2007, he dedicated his service to the White Rock Rotary Club as he was a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. As the founder for REC for kids he leaves behind a legacy. This registered charity benefits less fortunate children with recycled sports equipment and bicycles. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to REC for Kids, 13379 - 68th Avenue, Surrey, BC V3W 2E8 - www.recforkids.com. The family wishes to thank Dr. H Ezzat and Dr. Schuman, as well as the nurses at St. Paul's and Peace Arch Hospital.
His spirit and positive attitude will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at 10:00 am at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 - 28th Avenue, Surrey. Condolences may be offered at
