Just heard the sad news about Greg's passing. Such a great man that I had the pleasure to work with at the Safeway warehouse. Condolences to all of his family.

Ian and I just reading about this now...no words. Spent lots of time with Greg in the triathlon days, as he became a father and watched as he found happiness with Holly. Always trying to me me like something other than Sauvignon blanc (without success) A truly great guy who is gone way too soon. Our deepest sympathy to his entire family.

I am so sorry to hear of Greg's passing. I was very fortunate to have worked with Greg at the Division. He was always kind-hearted and generous. But he was most proud of his family. His eyes brightened every time he spoke of Holly and his kids. Holly, Alex, Max and Courtney- sending you love and strength at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Greg's death. We had lost touch in the recent years but memories of our summers and holidays spent playing together fondly remain.
I'd like to also mention Greg's parents, my aunt Dorothy Margaret (Peggy) MacKay and Donald Dines. Peggy's older sister, Jean MacKay Fahrni will make every effort to attend the service. Please let me know if we can bring anything or lend a hand in any way. We look forward to meeting Greg's family and send deepest sympathy to you, Judy and Dorothy Jean.
On behalf of cousins Ross, Jo Anne, Philip and myself - Peace.

I'm not really sure what to say but would like to send my love and condolences to the family of Greg Dines. I was there at the lake that day and wish I could have done more to help. I did not know Greg but in that short amount of time I could see the love his family have for him and how he will be greatly missed. I admire the bravery his family displayed during this difficult time and though I don't know Greg I'm sure he would be proud. I have had him and his family in my thoughts and prayers ever since and hope his family finds strength in this difficult time. Again, I am sorry for your loss. He should not have been taken from you so quickly and I pray that you can find a way to be happy despite the circumstances.

Hello,
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Greg's family, friends and co-workers. My heart goes out to you at this very difficult time.
When I learned of Greg's passing my thoughts went back to when we were in our early teens. Greg was the catalyst for many wonderful summers when keeping active was always top of mind. In order to develop our hoop skills we attended the Killarney Basketball Camp. To improve our running and endurance we joined the Vancouver Olympic Club (to be honest, the only time I could keep up with Greg was when I was sitting next to him on the bus ride over to the track). He would organize bike rallies to UBC that kept growing in numbers. When we were idle, he would do his art doodles. Greg was so talented always incorporating a peace sign and heart symbols into his drawings. Then there was the music! He would invite me over to his parent's home to watch Dick Clark's American Bandstand on their console TV. Dance music gave way to listening to Led Zeppelin, Cream and Rod Stewart on his dad's hi-fi stereo system in the den downstairs.
He was one of the few friends who always spoke highly of his sisters. He adored Judy and Dorothy and was not afraid to let everyone know it. His mom and dad were always supportive of our youthful endeavors he was blessed.
Many years ago I ran into Greg at a jazz performance at the famed Red Barrel Lounge in the Hotel Vancouver. He still had that winning smile, friendly manner and a love of music. I could tell then he was on his way to leaving large footprints in the sands of time.
Thank you for the wonderful memories Greg!
Sincerely,
Jim Wilford

So sad to hear about Greg's passing. He was one of the good ones. Had many good times with Greg, golf games, ski trips with the guys at Whistler.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Dine family. My name is Georgia Enright and I was one of the 4 girls who was in the lake on August 1st. I wanted to send my deepest condolences to your family. To be quite honest with you, I don't know what to say. I felt I needed to reach out in anyway possible. Ever since the day it happened, your family has been in my thoughts and prayers. I wish there was more I could have done. This day will change my life forever. And your families as well. I truly hope everyone in the Dines family will one day find a reason to wake up and smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
