Dorothy Nielson March 26,1931 - December 24, 2012 Dorothy Ninette Nielson, 81, entered into eternal peace on Monday, December 24, 2012 at home in the presence of her loving family. Dorothy was born on March 26, 1931 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter of the late James and Christina McIntosh. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy Nielson, in 2006. Dorothy lived most of her life in British Columbia. She worked at Houle Electric as a contracts clerk and at Knight's Trucks as a bookkeeper where she always took pride in balancing those books to the penny! Dorothy was a very kind and gentle soul, a true woman of love for family, and had a strong resilience to life's trials and tribulations. She desired nothing more than true friendship and a strength of commitment; her sense of humour allowed her to persevere. She will be remembered for her passion for owls, her flowers and gardening, her bubbly free spirit, and the choice to laugh. Dorothy leaves memories to be cherished by her loving children, Cynthia Nielson of Chilliwack B.C., Ty Nielson (Lisa) Vancouver B.C., and Wendy Reynolds (Russell) Kauai HI.; her brother Bill (Pat) McIntosh, sister Arla McIntosh, nephew Quinn McIntosh and niece Shelly McIntosh; grandchildren Trevor Needham and Jennifer Nielson; great-grandchildren Anthony and Kayle; and many more beloved relatives and friends. We, the family of Dorothy Nielson, will be holding an open house, a celebration of Dorothy's life, where all friends and family are invited to come and share, at the Nielsons' home: #44 -32855 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, B.C. on Saturday January 5th 2013 from 1:00pm- 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abbotsford Hospice Society in remembrance of Dorothy Ninette Nielson.
