Hisako Jeanette Sameshima (nee: Nagata) May 2, 1921 - May 30, 2018

Our much beloved Mom passed away peacefully with family by her side after a courageous stay in hospice care. Predeceased by her husband Toshio in 1974, she is survived by children Dan,Vicky (Gerry), Ron, Brian (Shirley); grandchildren, Shaun, Kristy, Mark; great- grandchildren, Jayden, Zoe, Kikasuw, Charleen, Edward, William.

Hisako was born in Eburne, BC to Sanshiro and Saye Nagata and was predeceased also by siblings Fumi, Yuki, Jerry, Roy. She is survived by sister, Reiko; sisters-in-law, Toshiko, Luri; paternal in-laws, Yoshiko, Hub, Marg; cousins, Pat, Barb, cousins-in-law Suzy, Sadie; numerous nieces and nephews.

A generous thoughtful friend, she will be missed sadly but remembered fondly.

Thanks to her longtime family physician, Dr. Jack Kliman and to Dr. Christopher Wong, and to the staffs at Richmond General and Holy Family Hospitals for helping mom live to age 97. Thank you to all staff at Salvation Army Rotary Hospice for making a difficult situation easier. A special thank you to Reverend Grant Ikuta for everything he has done.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Steveston Buddhist Temple, 4360 Garry Street, Richmond, BC at 11:00 am.

Koden and flowers gratefully declined. If desired, please donate either to the Richmond Hospital Foundation, Holy Family Hospital, Salvation Army Rotary Hospice, or the Steveston Buddhist Temple.
