Ivan John Trajer, passed away at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital on November 27, 2012, at the age of 92 years. Born in Yugoslavia in 1920, Ivan was fluent in, or had a working knowledge of several languages, including Yugoslavian, Hungarian, German, English and some Italian. He came to Canada and became a Canadian citizen in 1960. His occupation was that of a heavy duty equipment mechanic. He never married and it is not known if he has any surviving family, either here or in Europe. In recent years, he was a resident of The Rainbow Lodge in Langley, and more recently, at Jackman Manor, in Aldergrove, where he was well-liked by the staff, who became his family for the last 6 years of his life. He was a very quiet, easy-going man who never demanded anything for himself. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Joachim & Ann Catholic Church, 273 St. at 28th Ave., in Aldergrove, at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 6, 2012, with interment to follow at 1:00 pm at Langley Lawn Cemetery, 208th St at 44th Ave., in Langley.
