KENNEDY, James (Jim) Joseph
December 23, 1950 - January 25, 2013
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim, husband to Sharon, father to Matthew and Samantha, brother to Josephine, Michael, Brian (Bev), Kerry Ann (Ron), Larry (Ruth), Kathy (Robert), Pat (Cindy), uncle, cousin and friend. Predeceased by his beloved parents, Jim was born in Vancouver, BC, the fifth of eight children to Joe and Kay. He graduated from Vancouver College, studied English at Memorial University and became a Certified General Accountant. He spent most of his career working in Yellowknife for the Northwest Territorial Government and retired as their Director of Finance in 2005. Jim was a caring person with a sharp mind and quick wit; he always had a good word to say about everyone. His greatest joy was his children. He was passionate about fitness, education and rock'n'roll. An expert on Elvis Presley and a master at Jeopardy, Jim could always be counted on for some fun competition. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place Monday, February 4 at 11 a.m. at the Garden of Gethsemani Evangelist Chapel; 15800 32nd Ave, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to St. Patrick's Parish in Yellowknife, NWT. Condolences can be left online at
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
