John Lougheed Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun on Mar. 25, 2006.
LOUGHEED _ John Lindsay It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved John (Jack) on March 17th, 2006. Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Elizabeth (Betty) and children Jim (Justine), Doug (Dora), Brian (Jane) and Deborah Stockdale (Gary). He will also be missed by his 8 grandchildren: Graeme, Lindsay, Sarah, Caitlin, Phoebe, Trevor, Zuzu and Daisy. He also leaves behind his brother Fred and sister Bette Graham. Born and raised in Vancouver Jack served with the PPCLI overseas during WWII and worked for BC Electric and BC Hydro, retiring in 1979. Everyone loved Jack. He loved to talk and had a zest for life that could not be contained. But what Jack loved and was most proud of was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and celebrated his 90th birthday just a month ago surrounded by his loved ones dining and dancing until midnight. He was active until the day he died. He will be buried with the family he loved so much, with a private service as he wished. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Fund would be appreciated. "Dance as though no one were watching, Sing as though no one were listening And live everyday as if it were your last."
