MILLER, Kaye Ellen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Kaye Ellen Miller (Griffiths) of North Vancouver, at the age of 100. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Dell-Jean Naimark; grandchildren, Ben and Carmella; great-grandson, Dylan; as well as her many nieces and nephews. Kaye was predeceased by her daughter, Carol (1963); husband, Charlie (2005); son-in-law, Barry (2004); as well as her parents, Owen and Jane Griffiths; sisters, Violet Robinson and Mayme Thorstienson; and brother, William F. Griffiths. Kaye was born October 24, 1911 in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan. She met and married her husband of 69 years, Charles Miller in Melville, Saskatchewan prior to their moving to British Columbia in 1941, where they resided in North Vancouver. Charlie and Kaye moved to Sunrise Seniors Retirement Residence in Vancouver in 2004. Kaye began her working career as a telephone operator in various communities in Saskatchewan before transferring to BC Tel where she worked for 25 years, retiring at age 65. Kaye enjoyed her winters in Palm Desert following retirement and will be lovingly remembered for her culinary abilities, her great sense of humor and deep interest and concern for both her immediate and extended family. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank the excellent staff at Sunrise Retirement Residence for all of their loving care. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be made in Kaye's memory to the charity of one's choice.
