ASANO _ Kensaku Christian. Born in September of 1979 in Vancouver, B.C. Beloved son, brother and friend. Kensaku passed away on June 16th, 2005 in Richmond, BC after a courageous battle with cancer. Known for his unique sense of humor and kind demeanor, Kensaku was a gifted young actor who graduated from Hugh McRoberts Secondary School in Richmond, BC and went on to study English Literature and Theatre at the University of British Columbia and acting at the Atlantic Theatre Company Acting School in New York. Also a talented artist and a walking, talking encyclopedia of film, Kensaku had a voracious appetite for books and ideas. His inimitable creativity and unmatched capacity for empathy touched the lives of those around him. Kensaku was predeceased by his grandfather Ni Asano. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Lisbeth and Isao, adoring sister Naoko, grandmother Masako Asano, grandparents Aarre and Margareta Aspegren, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Europe and Japan, as well as many friends around the world. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 25th, 2005 at the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, BC. Flowers gratefully declined; if friends so wish, donations may be made in Kensaku's name to the BC Cancer Foundation.
