PARKER, Melvin (Mel) Glenn
January 29, 1951 - December 4, 2012
After courageous battle with illness Mel is at peace and will be missed by all who knew him. Mel grew up in Kits, graduated from Kitsilano High and then became a long time employee at BC Tel/Telus, retiring in 2010. Mel was a very social, outgoing, and charismatic man who loved to laugh and tease. Christmas was his favourite time and he made the season special for all around him. His real passion was fishing, smelting at Kits beach, and salt and fresh water fishing anywhere. He was happiest when fishing on the Chilliwack River with his twin brother Jim, chasing the elusive steelhead. Left to cherish his memory is his mother Kay, brother Jim & Carol, sister Sharon & Dick, step-daughters Natasha & Andrew and Alexandra & Jason, nephew Vince & Amber, nephew Jimmy, great nieces Janay & Kailey, Aunt Fran and cousin Kevin, co-workers and many friends. At Mel's request there will be no funeral and a gathering will be held in the new year. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
