With profound sadness we announce the premature passing of Michael at Vernon Jubilee Hospital following his battle with esophageal cancer on June 15, 2013. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, of 27 years; his children: Kelsey, Byron, and Tamara; and his parents, Richard and Cecile. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul, in 2004. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike graduated from St. Thomas More School, and BCIT, receiving a double diploma in Wood Products Technology and Business Administration. Mike worked for many years in the wood products industry. In 2008, he changed his career to safety consultant in northern BC and Alberta. Mike was a very energetic, vibrant person who had many passions: sports, hiking, camping, skiing, and coaching soccer for all his children. He was obsessed with his favourite team, Manchester United. Mike spent many years going to his family cabin at Bowers Lake in the Cariboo, where he fished with his Dad and children. He was a member of Fly B.C. where he had many friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church, 10102 Middleton Drive, Coldstream, B.C. Reception to follow.
