Michael Kendall Buckley January 22, 1950 - December 28, 2012 After a short, courageous battle with cancer, Mike passed away at the BC Cancer Agency just after Christmas. Predeceased by parents Peter and Dorothy, Mike is mourned by his children Lisa (Chilwin) and Ian (Darryl), grandchildren River, Kai, Ollie and Beth, sister Megan, brother Tim (Terry) and nieces, Caitlin, Alex and Hilary. Mike will be lovingly remembered as a pro golfer, salesman, storyteller, book-lover, enthusiastic walker and a doting grandfather. A private service will be held, followed by a celebration of life with family and friends at Marine Drive Golf Club (7425 Yew St) on Saturday, February 9 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Rather than flowers, donations can be made to the Michael Buckley In-Memory Fund, to preserve the city parks Mike so loved (on line at http://donate.vancouver.ca or by mail to Vancouver Park Board c/o Michael Buckley In-Memory Fund, 2099 Beach Ave, Vancouver, BC, V6G 1Z4).
