(Village - Palahi, Punjab India)
Passed away peacefully at home on the morning of September 17, 2012, at the age of 86. She leaves behind her son Mohinder (Parminder) Sull, her 3 daughters, Surinder (Virinder) Bhatti, Sarjeet (John) Dhaliwal, Jagjeet (Tejpaul) Jhooty, her 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, her sister, her 4 brothers, and many close relatives and friends. Parkash came from amongst the earliest Sikh pioneer families in BC, whose origins date back to the early 1930's. She has now joined her late husband, Surrain Singh, who left us 15 years ago, and is still very much missed today. Parkash had two loves, her devotion to her faith and her love for her family. She arrived in North Vancouver in 1957, and developed many lasting friendships during her life there. She enjoyed being with her friends at the North Shore Neighbourhood House, and those at the Akali Singh Sikh Temple in Vancouver. She was very independent, spiritual, loving, and generous. She will always be remembered for her sharp memory, attention to detail, and warm smile. Services will be held at the Riverside Funeral Home at 7410 Hopcott Road in Delta, on Saturday September 22, 2012 at 12:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service at the Akali Singh Sikh Temple at 1890 Skeena Street in Vancouver.
