THOMSEN, Rose Marie
The Guest Book is expired.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Rose Marie Thomsen, age 86. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 46 years, Egon Thomsen. She was the 2nd eldest child, born to Christian and Katherine Heck in rural Saskatchewan on September 21, 1926. Even though she lived in Vancouver since 1959, Mom was always a 'prairie girl' at heart. She loved country music, polkas, endless blue skies, and prairie wheat fields. Mom will be remembered fondly for her selfless, caring and giving spirit. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need and possessed seemingly endless energy to do so. Mom will be deeply missed and is survived by her 8 siblings (Marie, Matt, Ann, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Ed, Peter and Bernie); eldest son, Tom; daughter Anita (Randy); son Terry (Laura); and grandchildren Riley, Max, and Taryn. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the nurses, aides and staff at the New Vista Care Home, Royal Columbian Hospital ER and Crossroads Hospice (Port Moody) who all provided wonderful care and made Mom comfortable during her final days. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Vista Care Home Society (Burnaby) or Crossroads Hospice Society (Port Moody). Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church (6350 Nanaimo St., Vancouver), followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Afterwards, a Reception to Celebrate Mom's Life will be held with open mic for those who wish to express their thoughts and memories of Mom.
