Russell Ivan Sigerson October 21, 1931-November 17, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great soul.

Russell was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and raised, during his early years, on Hecla Island, Russell was a proud Canadian of Icelandic heritage.

A storyteller, a poet, a musician, sportsman, businessman, and pool shark; he was, above all, a man of family. He was also a courageous fighter of indomitable spirit.

The last ten years involved a long series of health issues which he battled with the help and support of his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy.

Russell is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Christopher; daughter-in-law, Kyu Min; daughter, Kirsten; son-in-law, David; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Michael, Nicholas, Katelyn, Audrey, and Megan.

Russ will be most remembered for his sense of humour, his generosity, his ready smile, and his warm heart.

Memorial service for Russ will be held on Thursday, November 29th 2012, at 2pm at Our Saviour Lutheran Church 6380 No. 4 Road in Richmond, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial bursary the family is establishing. Please e-mail for more information.
