We sadly announce the passing of our father in Delta Hospital at 93 years of age. He was born in Steveston, Richmond. He resided in BC all his life except during the 1940s when he was in a Schreiber, Ontario logging camp and worked on the Trans-Canada Highway. He returned to the West Coast in 1949 when Japanese-Canadians were released from wartime internment, eventually settling in Sunbury, Delta, where he resumed fishing and married Sumiye Inouye and had five daughters. He was predeceased by his wife and is survived by Nancie, Lorna ( Scott), Karen, Dinah ( Rob), and Kiyomi ( Ken), and nine grandchildren- Roxanne, Maxine, Colette, Michael, Tyler, Brandon, Michelle, Ryan and Nia. Relatives and friends are welcome to a Celebration in Bob's memory at the Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at 2 p.m. A thank you to the staff at Nikkei Home in Burnaby who tended to Bob during the last years of his life before his move to extended care in Ladner, Delta in January of this year.
Koden gratefully declined. Donations to either Nikkei House or the Delta Hospital would be appreciated.
