PAWLIUK, Tavi
Passed away at VGH Cancer Clinic on November 18, 2012 at the age of 48, after an inspiring 17-year battle with cancer. Tavi is survived by her wonderful and caring son Dylan, age 21 and his partner Lexi, her brother Nick and wife Heather, and parents, Fran and Alex, Grandma Smith, many aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom will forever carry memories of her magical spirit and determination with them. Tavi was born November 10, 1964 in Surrey, B.C. and did Grades 1 to 3 in Port Alberni, 4 to 6 in Queen Charlotte Islands, grade 7 in Gilan, Iran and grades 8 to 12 in Surrey where she graduated. Tavi studied at SFU for a couple of years before entering the workplace where after a few years she joined the family Graphics business. In 1991 she helped us to start, and became Editor of a respected bi-weekly BC forest industry newsletter in which she insisted on staying active in until just prior to her death. Tavi has always tried to give help or any comfort she could to others less fortunate, or in need and she carried on this trait until the end. She unselfishly shared her cancer journey with all of her family and friends while demonstrating little or no complaint or self-pity. In recent weeks she was pleased to be able to see, talk or communicate with many friends and family. Tavi will be missed terribly, but remembered with joy for her courage, kindness, positive attitude and enduring sense of humour to the end. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for family and friends on Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Location: the Centennial Lodge, located in the north west of the Queens Park - Park main entrance can be Googled at 57 - 3rd Avenue, New Westminster, B.C. (Lots of parking close to Lodge). In lieu of flowers we would like you to support, in Tavi's name, the BC Cancer Foundation, or the Vancouver Children's Hospital.
