December 6, 1926 - July 23, 2012 Walter passed away peaceful at St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for nature, bountiful vegetable harvests and cheerful demeanor. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret, his daughter Heather (Ron), daughter-in-law Kelly, grandchildren Meghan, Angus, Meredith and Henry. Walt was predeceased by his son, John (1997) and will be greatly missed by his dog Charley, especially on ice-cream nights. Walter and Margaret spent a large part of their life running a successful construction business in Vancouver where the quality of work spoke for itself and contracts were signed simply with a handshake. They retired to the Sunshine Coast where Walt's time was filled with gardening, hiking and many hours in his workshop.
The Guest Book is expired.
Special thanks to Dr. Jack Bryson, the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and the lovely ladies at LifeLabs. In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A private family memorial will be held in the future to celebrate Walter's life.
